Join Us for The Red Egg: A Summer Solstice Soiree!

As the fiery heat of Summer draws near, The Surreal Sirkus and Fallout ArtSpace invite you to celebrate the Solstice with two days and nights of live music, fire spinning, sideshow, ritual theater, and the next chapter of the Tale of the Cosmic Eggs: The Red Egg.

 

Come experience incredible performances by some of the best musicians in the region and beyond in a truly unique location less than half an hour from downtown Asheville. The event is a fundraiser for Arts 2 People and Fallout ArtSpace, two great non-profit organizations working to support artists in the Asheville area.

The theme for the weekend is the element of fire in all of its manifestations. And it will culminate in a collaborative performance piece by Unifire Theater and Surreal Sirkus that will tell the story of the Red Egg through fire dance, live music, and storytelling.

Participants will also have the opportunity to deepen their relationship to fire by taking part in a firewalk facilitated by Wyrmlings of Light Firewalks.

 

Plus there will be local art vendors, nightly bonfires, a fire effigy, workshops, and much more. Sunday afternoon, the festivities will end with an ecstatic dance led by Asheville’s own Servant of Dance (formerly Nata Das).

About the Tale of the Cosmic Eggs:

The Surreal Sirkus embarked on this story in the aftermath of the devastating impact of Hurricane Helene on our town. When the storm came we were preparing for the annual Surreal Sirkus Arts Festival, and we had an entire show planned that suddenly was no longer feasible.

But stories have a way of taking on a life of their own, and this story wanted to be told in pieces over time. And so we set out on a great adventure, to tell those stories throughout the wheel of the year. We are unfolding one part of the story on each of the eight traditional pagan holidays — the solstices, equinoxes, and the cross-quarter holidays between them.

Fallout ArtSpace, Inc. is a 501c3 nonprofit performance art space in Alexander, NC. We provide a space for artists to create, perform, and grow. We are set out with the intention to promote artists and one day help fund them. Each event we do is for our purpose of the promotion of local arts and artists.

About Arts 2 People

Arts 2 People is a grassroots, community activist, arts and social service organization that has been working in the community on behalf of emerging arts projects like the Foundation Spot for two decades. A2P produced 15 years of LAAFF, and is the group responsible for the popular landmark Lexington Gateway mural at I-240 and Lex, and several other important murals in AVL.

Over the years, A2P has moved well over a million dollars around in the community, incubating literally hundreds of creativity based businesses and endeavors.

About The Wyrmlings of Light Firewalks

The Wyrmlings are ancient soul seeds—innocent, wise, luminous beings who once retreated deep into the earth to escape a world that forgot their light. They are the sacred inner children, the dreamers, the fire-born parts of ourselves and the collective that are now ready to return. This firewalk is their homecoming—and your invitation to walk through flame as a vessel for their awakening.

Over two nights, we’ll gather to:-

Tend the sacred fire in ritual and prayer- Walk the ember path with intention, soul, and courage

Call home the Wyrmlings through body, breath, and bare feet on flame- Reclaim what has been buried or forgotten within you-

Prepare for the final effigy burn—carrying the flame as a Flamekeeper

This is more than walking on fire. It’s an act of remembrance.

It’s myth becoming movement.

It’s the return of the lost light.

And it’s time.

This is a co-created ceremonial offering in collaboration with the Surreal Sirkus. All are welcome—no experience needed, only a willing heart and reverence for the mystery. With fire and roots,
